Del Calhoun is an artist whose passion is fish. A local resident, Del’s inspiration comes from the beautiful waters of South Tampa Bay. When Del isn’t catching, taking pictures and releasing fish he is in his studio creating them.

Del’s Love of fish finds expression through his beautiful carved fish and also on his colorful oil and acrylic paintings.

Each table/desk display fish is unique in that it is hand carved from wood, hand painted and signed. His meticulous attention to detail and exacting precision in capturing the characteristics of a species often prompts people to ask "Is it real?"

His wall mount fish are fun replicas of local species that capture the tropical essence of  Florida.

As a young boy growing up along the Fox River Valley in Illinois, Del learned to fish and experience the excitement that all fisherman share. During adulthood his interest in fish grew and he began collecting, breeding, and showing cichlids. On his first vacation to Siesta Key, Florida Del began painting cichlids, working in water color and oil. He also began designing fish using a variety of media and garnered awards for his 3D fish in Chicagoland art shows.

Upon relocating to the Tampa area, Del’s art began expanding to include local catches such as snook, red fish, trout, sheepshead and grouper. He loves to do custom work and create one of a kind pieces based on the client's wishes.
